Having some of my own long standing beliefs confirmed in such a wonderful story of another MAN is very rewarding.

- Gardening, gardening, did I say gardening? I am in transition from using non-organic products at time to being as organic as I can now.
I first became really interested in group activities after attending Woodstock in 1969. The possibilities of good things that can happen when like minded people find themselves in an unexpected situation and make the best of it as an example to the world has changed my life and led me to this point.
When living in California I got to see and interact with groups of folks who would in a gypsy-like fashion follow a group called The Grateful Dead. These folks lived simply while on the road and formed friendships and strong bonds with others all over the world.
For over 25 years I have slept in a tent since moving to Australia. For years I swam in the cold river before doing anything else each day. I lived without electricity for many years. I lived without a telephone for over seven years.
I live on a property off-grid where we have solar power, back-up generators and pump water from a very clean river. This makes me very conscious of the use of these things.. I raised a daughter here who always preferred playing with plants, rocks, sticks and such to man made toys although she did have them. She always had a strong connection to animals and is now a vet.
I rarely wear shoes unless I have to even in the winter. Although this is Queensland, due to the altitude here, it gets cold. I have no heat unless I build a fire outside. Some buildings do have wood stoves, mine does not.
Over these years, I have learned a lot, made mistakes and just desire to do better each day. I don't always succeed.
My biggest challenge at the moment seems to be having only a dial-up internet connection. Watching videos posted here is quite frustrating. Downloading Koa's first video on Bush Tucker took over six hours. It was worth it.

Quite a while back the subject of mushrooms came up here... I'm just now listening to a fantastic interview with the fabulous Paul Stamets. It's long, but for sure worthwhile. Not only discusses the healing powers, but the connections with ancient folklore. Very interesting.

Woodstock '69

Well, this being the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock, I got out my cd of pics my first husband took. I then posted them on Facebook...
Have been in touch with several folks I know who were also there... we have almost all ended up on the land or have gardens as a major part of our lives... Back to the garden!
